Yorkshire’s unofficial capital is a haven for all the artsy music lovers, finicky food bingers and anyone who is hungry for a new experience. Ballet, opera, museums, and incredible desserts paired with some cool wind in your hair, Leeds can make the happiest happier. Since Insider peeps are far from going on a vacation right now, we have been visiting Leeds through our laptop screens. Here are the things we would like to do:
1) Watch people perform
Your first visit to the West Yorkshire Playhouse that features theatre and dance performances throughout the week can be free, just visit the website and register! Or just head to Smokestack for a kickass gig.
P.s- Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Arctic Monkeys are all Leeds artists.
2) Indulge in the local history
The Leeds City Museum and the Thackray Medical Museum have some eerie and insightful sights. And well preserved too.
3) Sip cocktails like a queen
Some of the Leeds bars have a fantastic view of the city, making you feel like royalty while enjoying your choice of poison.
4) Dance all night
Call Lane has some of the best parties in town with places like Norman’s, Call Lane Social and Jake’s . And no curfew.
5) Walk all day
No better way to explore a city than get lost in it. And we can’t wait to soak in all the Leeds culture.
